Festival in Honour of Naval Legend Lord Collingwood

As part of the planned festivities HMS Cumberland, a Royal Navy type 22 Frigate affiliated with Batchworth Sea Scouts, will be berthed out at North Shields for the weekend, will be open to the public on Saturday, 6 March.

Her Commanding Officer, Captain David Dutton OBE, will invite local people to come aboard and learn a little about life in today’s modern Royal Navy.

HMS Cumberland returned from a high-profile six-month deployment to the gulf before Christmas, during which time she foiled a drug smuggling operation and seized drugs worth over £40 million.

THE JUMBLE SALE IS COMING!


Our Jumble Sale regularly attracts over 300 customers. It has been a great success and given us plenty of happy times. Its a perfect day out for Jumblers and raises much needed money for the group.

A proper jumble sale with a BBQ serving refreshments and some amazing finds such as clothes, books, comics, jewellery, brick-a-brack, toys, electrical items and much much more.

Sat 27 Mar Jumble Sale clear up - 1pm onwards

We welcome any donations you think might be suitable. Either bring your items along on the 20th or contact us before hand and we will arrange a pick up.

Volunteers are needed to help with the distribution of leaflets, collection of Jumble, sorting and manning the stalls on the day of the sale. We will also need help with clearing up after the event.

As part of Batchworth Sea Scouts arrangement with Loco2, we have also entered into an affiliate scheme. The idea behind the affiliation scheme is to encourage Batchworth Sea Scouts to sign up to LoCO2 Energy to benefit the group on an ongoing basis.
