HMS Cumberland Meets USS Winston S Churchill

HMS Cumberland and USS Winston S Churchill off the Isle of wightHMS Cumberland, a Royal Navy type 22 Frigate affiliated with Batchworth Sea Scouts, worked with USS Winston S Churchill conducting an exercise with helicopters and transfer of personnel between the two ships. Gifts were exchanged and the two ship’s CO’s wished each other success with forthcoming operations. They met just off the South coast of the Isle of Wight in warm, calm conditions befitting the Gulf, where USS WSC is headed. It was a splendid day for being at sea and flying, both helicopters got airborne and landed on the other’s flight decks exchanging personnel and gifts.
